Seizures and Behavioural problems
Karina born at 24 weeks premature and had respiratory distress which caused a cerebral bleed. Three months later she went on surgery for a VP shunt. Little by little she surprised the doctors who predicted the worse for her.
She learned to hold her head, which became almost bigger than the rest of her body, to crawl and to seat by herself.
Medication no help
Around the age of 5 years old she went in a special school for disabled children and started having some problems with her behaviour she started having partials seizures and was giving a medication for that. The medication did not stop the seizures, year after year the doctor increased the doses. Her behaviours problems worsened.
She would scream, hit and bite
We saw a lot of specialists but no one managed to help her. It was very hard and frustrating for us and every person who tried to work with her. I knew that she could improve in all areas but anytime someone tried to work with her she would start screaming, hitting and biting herself, pulling her hair for hours. Our social life became miserable as even our relatives stayed away from us.
Finally found TST
Finally I found out about Advance and at first was sceptical but I needed to try.
Seizures decreased and she became calmer
After our second visit the seizures decreased for the first time and Karina started getting calmer. She walks with help, her balance is improved and to my joy we could start visiting friends and family again.
It feels wonderful to see her playing
It feels wonderful to see her playing, doing things we ask her and staying calm when we go somewhere.Karina now just keep surprising myself and everybody who knew her before.I am very thankful to Linda and every one at Advance to make this possible and for their patience and kindness.
