Artem by: his Mother and Father
Cerebral Palsy Spastic Diplegia
We live in Russia our boy was born premature, two and a half months earlier than we had expected. He spent two months in the hospital
(the first two weeks in intensive care). When we were leaving the hospital, the doctor said that Artem would do everything later (crawling, walking and etc.), but he would catch up them gradually… and everything was quite good till the age of one year and a half…. this was when he began to walk and doctors noticed he did this on his toes with his feet turned inwards they gave him a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy (Spastic Diplegia).
Hysterical and chest infection
So we started treatment, various forms of physiotherapy splints on his legs, etc. Unfortunately the result of all these procedures and medicines was that he became hysterical and we didn’t know what to do – Artem’s hysterics started to look like paroxysm more and more… There was one more problem – he was always catching colds (cough’s, bronchitis, pneumonia – even in May).
At last TST – Hysterics disappeared
When he was at the age of two years and a half a Russian doctor we knew well advised us to take Artem to the UK to visit Advance and try the Scotson therapy (TST) when we began TST the situation started to change – the hysterics disappeared, movements of his body looked more proper and accurate.
He learnt to run and sing, no more colds
He learnt to run and sing (at the age of 3), he began to go to kindergarten, he learnt to swim (at the age of 5), he learnt to read, write, count (at the age of 5), now his speech is more detailed, he asks a lot of questions and he is interested in many things – like cars, professions, countries, and even politics .. He didn’t catch cold during last winter at all – no cough, no bronchitis! He can walk for a long time without feeling of tiredness.
Visual improvement
Our achievements over the summer (the age six and a half) – he can ride a scooter now and climb stairs without using hands! That is he is much more stable. His eyes are better than they were 4 years ago: when he was three years old, he has about 50% of vision with the vision corner 17 degrees (crossing), now – about 100% vision and almost without crossing (about 3 degrees).
This autumn he began to go to school for preparatory lessons like other children of his age.
